About Christina

Christina McGhee, is an
internationally acclaimed divorce coach and
parent educator, who has devoted her career to helping children and
families successfully
manage the challenges of divorce. She firmly
believes that children should not just “survive”
divorce but also be provided with opportunities
to thrive. For over ten years, Christina has
educated parents with a “child focused” approach
through teaching
court mandated parenting classes
to divorcing parents in Texas and designing specialized programs for both
parents and children.
As
a coach, Christina works directly with parents
either in person or over the telephone and helps
them focus on being the best parent they can be.
In
addition to her practice, she actively
maintains
divorceandchildren.com
as an online resource for parents and has
co-produced the award winning children’s DVD
program with a companion workbook,
“Lemons 2
Lemonade: How to handle life when
things go sour between Mom and Dad”. It
reinforces for children that even when your parents choose to live apart,
your family is still your family,
just in a different way.
Dubbed
“the divorce coach,”
Christina's work has
been highlighted by many various publications
and has gained
international attention for her participation in
the 2006 British Channel 4 series, "How to Divorce Without Screwing up Your Kids".
Described as an inspirational and engaging
speaker, Christina trains lawyers, mediators and
counselors internationally while working on her
newest
project, a guidebook for divorced and separated parents.
In all facets of her work,
Christina challenges children and families to
use difficult situations or life circumstances
as a catalyst for positive change in their
lives. She not only teaches that philosophy but also works very hard to live by it.
Christina, who has been married
for over thirteen years, also grew up in
a divorced family and later became a stepparent.
Together she and her husband, Scott have four wonderful children. Christina feels
her personal experiences have significantly
contributed to her belief that families can redefine
themselves in meaningful ways following divorce.
